Santa Isabel Snow-capped Mountain by Rural Adventure
ITINERARY
The tour begins at 4:00 am, departing from the city of Pereira where you will be picked up in a 4x4 vehicle heading towards the Nevado de Santa Isabel. The access to the climate change trail (formerly the edge of the glacier) takes 8 hours, making stops along the way to have breakfast, register, receive an induction or information and carry out a short uphill hike before returning along the same route to the meeting point in the city of Pereira.

Why is it NO LONGER possible to touch snow on our tour to Nevado de Santa Isabel?
Until a few years ago, the Climate Change Trail allowed visitors to reach the edge of the glacier and touch the snow. However, due to the accelerated melting of glaciers in Colombia caused by climate change, the ice on Nevado de Santa Isabel has retreated several hundred meters. Therefore, it is no longer possible to touch snow in a single day. Our tour, therefore, focuses on showcasing this dramatic glacial retreat and raising environmental awareness. More than just a photo in the snow , you will experience a transformative journey on one of the last tropical glaciers in the world.
RESERVATION CONDITIONS
- RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE AT LEAST TWENTY (20) OR FIFTEEN (15) DAYS IN ADVANCE, BECAUSE THE PERMIT TO ENTER THE SANTA ISABEL SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAIN MUST BE PROCESSED WITH NATIONAL PARKS.
