Enjoy a tour full of fresh air, nature and landscape in one of the most beautiful places in our region, among a forest full of green that seems infinite when contemplating the Quindío basin and unattainable when observing the immense white and rocky mass that stands out in the mountain. We are the guardians, in charge of conserving and perpetuating the history and legend of the Quimbaya treasure and the Cacique Calarcá, for the well-being of future generations, conserving the Peñas Blancas hill, the sacred mountain of the indigenous Pijaos and Quimbayas who resisted and immolated themselves before they submit or surrender to the invader. Likewise, we represent the well-being of a community, which thanks to the planting of more than twenty thousand trees (including the wax palm) have benefited from the protection of water sources for consumption, stability of the "Quebrada El Cofre" after the 1999 avalanche; Restoration of the forest, protection of the Peñas Blancas hill and an example for future generations to experience in a place full of magic and nature, where biodiversity is our greatest wealth and silence our heritage.

ITINERARY
The experience begins in the Corregimiento de la Virginia where our guide (Baquiano) will be waiting for us, who will lead us along a path along concrete tracks with slopes of up to 27%, to reach the lower part of the ecopark, where find the parking lot and the entrance to the Peñas Blancas Ecopark (1850 masl).
The first part of the route is approached by a zigzag path with slopes that vary between 5% and 15%, through an area initially dedicated to the cultivation of coffee and today reforested with species of coffee walnut and cedars, as well as cultivation of "lemon grass" and "citronella" that set and aromatize the route, until reaching the base camp (1930 masl) after 1.1 km of travel.
At the base camp, you will enjoy a refreshing drink, as well as a good panoramic view of the Quindío basin, to then tackle the second section of the route to the base of Peñas Blancas hill (2150 masl), after 1.5 km through A whole induced reforestation with native species, which shows the great change of the landscape from pasture to a biodiverse forest, where the song of the birds brightens the route. Later we will go through the section corresponding to the Peñas Blancas hill, where we will find slopes greater than 20%, it implies a 1.2 km journey to reach its top (2430 masl), from where we will appreciate the magnificent view and where we will be able to observe the Municipalities of Calarcá, Armenia, Circasia, Filandia, among others. Finally, our guide will lead us to the base camp and later to the initial meeting point of the Corregimiento of La Virginia.
