Just 2 km from the main park of Filandia I found "La Reserva Barbas - Bremen", a natural destination where I explored trails full of varied vegetation; in which, if you are lucky , you can meet the Howler Monkey, one of the largest primates in Colombia, which is only found in mountainous areas with tropical humid and dry forests.

ITINERARY
It all begins in Filandia's main square, where we'll pick you up in a Jeep and head to the Barbas-Bremen Reserve. Upon arrival, the Reserve's host will greet you and share the most interesting features of the area and region. Afterward, we'll enjoy a delicious cup of locally sourced coffee and then embark on a hike of approximately four (4) kilometers, lasting about three (3) hours. During the hike, if we're lucky, you might spot howler monkeys and enjoy the tranquility and incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna that the Barbas-Bremen Canyon offers. This area is one of the most protected by the National Government due to its ecological and environmental importance. We recommend you bring a change of clothes, as you can, if you wish, take a dip (NOT SWIM) in a beautiful, crystal-clear waterfall. At the end of the hike, we'll offer you a refreshing lemonade before we return by Jeep to the meeting point.

CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE OBSERVATION OF HOWLER MONKEYS
Howler monkeys are a species that inhabits this forest, and it's common to see them during the hike. However, since they are wild animals and not in captivity, sightings depend on natural factors such as the weather, the time of year, and the animals' behavior on that particular day.
Our expert guide is very familiar with the habits of howler monkeys and does everything possible to maximize the chances of seeing them. Even so, spotting wildlife in its natural habitat always involves a degree of uncertainty.
