Birdwatching Barbas-Bremen from Rural Adventure ITINERARY

As is often heard, Quindío has the particularity of having the countryside in the city, not unrelated to this, on the outskirts of the urban area of Filandia, we have the path of El Bizcocho, a route with its own coffee landscapes, with grassland coverage, agricultural crops, living fences and forest fragments that generate connectivity with one of the department's hotspots, the Barbas Bremen soil conservation district (DCS), this being an area of importance for bird conservation (AICA).

The prelude to the tour will be the most common, but no less beautiful, birds, including seedeaters, tanagers, wrens and warblers. However, as we continue our path, we will be able to find indicator species of conserved ecosystems such as the Toropisco (Pyroderus scutatus), the Masked Trogon (Trogon personatus), the Black Mirla (Turdus leucops) and even the Caucasian Guan (Penelope perspicax). , the latter endemic to Colombia.

And if it is about flowers, we can make a season to be dazzled by a collection of orchids of more than 400 species that with them bring their pollinators, among them, a diversity of hummingbirds. Finally, we cannot leave without highlighting the coffee area, and what better way than tasting a delicious coffee while admiring the traditional colonial culture and architecture that characterizes the Plaza de Filandia.

This Tour starts in the main square of Filandia and ends in the same place.
