At La Alejandra farm you will have your experience with chocolate, a place to connect with nature, share with your loved ones and to take a cocoa tour where an exploration of the crop is made, from the plants in the process of growth, development and production, know the benefit system (fermentation and drying), and carry out the artisanal production of chocolate (roasting, grinding, molding of cocoa) you can also taste a delicious chocolate.
ITINERARY
The tour begins in the Municipality of Montenegro where we will pick you up in a jeep heading to Finca Cacaotera La Alejandra where the guide will be waiting for us who will start the tour telling us the history and cultural, economic and social importance of cocoa. Later we will take a tour of the cocoa plantation where you will learn about the different varieties of cocoa, including planting, management, pest and disease control, and pollination, as well as learn how ripe fruits are selected for harvesting and/or participate from the manual harvest of the same cocoa (depending on the season). Next we will take a tour of the guadual in order to go to the fermentation and drying area and actively participate in the cleaning, roasting, husking, grinding and molding of the cocoa for the production of chocolate. Finally, we will taste a delicious snack which includes a cup of chocolate made with cocoa from the farm, before heading back to the starting point.

This tour is accessible for people with physical disabilities and/or partially reduced mobility, they can no longer do the walk, but they can have the transformation experience.
